Why is this podcast different?
Many people struggle with their documentary storytelling, and what isn't needed is more inspiration. If you've been looking for help, trying to follow the advice, and not getting better, it doesn't mean you are the problem; it's the advice you've been getting.

This podcast will walk you through the practical steps that world-class documentary makers use to create compelling stories from real-life ideas.

You'll hear from writers, directors, and creatives working at the highest level in the industry - people who have made some of the most well-known and respected documentaries. And, because my background includes working in drama, I speak to some of the best in that area - who have come from documentaries and understand the difference between factual and fiction storytelling.

At the same time, I'll also discuss the critical story skills behind some of the most successful documentaries and factual series I've been involved with (including the Netflix hit F1: Drive to Survive, writing for Sir David Attenborough and his documentaries The Language Master and Fatal Attractions).
